Any devotional worth its salt always starts out with a verse from the Bible. This one is no different. At the top of each devotion is a Bible verse which is followed by a short but profoundly insightful discussion which should be enough to get you through your day. If not, you can always watch a Seinfeld rerun.

The big difference here is that I wholly depend upon the leading of the Spirit for the selection of each verse. I do this by closing my eyes, opening the Bible, and then pointing at the page. Wherever my finger just “happens” to be pointing I take as God for that day. You have to trust me on this.

Following the Bible verse I offer my thoughts in a brief meditation jam-packed with insight which can then be applied to your life. This can be done all at once or in easy installments during the day, whichever works best for you. You have to trust me on this too, though people of above average religiosity will recognize my genius right away.

If you can’t figure this out, you may have to resort to reading the Bible on your own. Bummer.

I hope you will make Our Daily Fred your regular stop on that long road to redemption. It’ll be an adventure, and, after all, why bother God when I’ll do it for you? Oh, and toss your other devotionals. All you need is me.

Really. I mean it.

  3. Heh, Fred, You need a reply for 2010—-2009 is so, well, 2009, so here is one: Keep up the good work, Fred….As you seem to have figured out, serving the servant God is not a matter of the rules of eating and drinking but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. Nice to share the Kingdom with you, bud. Dave
